US Employer Transparency Benchmark: Average Score Hits 57/100
With 27 graded US employers averaging 57/100, employer transparency scores reveal a heavy cluster around middle-of-the-road candidate treatment.
A Baseline of Mediocrity Across US Employers
Looking across the 27 graded US employers currently tracked on the ledger, one number jumps out immediately: 57 out of 100. That is the exact average transparency score across the entire group. It is also the specific score held by a staggering majority of companies on both the high and low ends of our ledger tracking.
Whether you are applying to enterprise software providers, consumer platforms, or health tech firms, the candidate experience remains remarkably uniform—and uniformly mediocre. When the top tier and the bottom tier share the exact same score of 57, it signals an industry-wide default setting. Employers are doing just enough to stay operational, but rarely enough to provide real clarity, reliable response times, or consistent feedback to job seekers.
Breaking Down the Highest and Lowest Graded Employers
At the top of the ledger sits Anomali with a score of 66 out of 100. In a landscape dominated by mid-fifties scores, 66 stands out as the highest mark recorded among graded employers. It shows that moving past the national baseline is possible, even if very few companies currently pull it off.
Behind Anomali, the top tier flattens out entirely, with multiple companies sharing the exact national average:
- Rocketship ( score 57 )
- Epsilon3 ( score 57 )
- Lyft ( score 57 )
- Asana ( score 57 )
- Appsflyer ( score 57 )
On the lower end of the ledger, scores drop below that middle-of-the-road benchmark. Yieldmo sits at the very bottom with a score of 52 out of 100. Goalbookapp 2 sits just above it with a score of 54 out of 100. Joining them on the lower end of the ledger at the 57 threshold are Betr, Inductivehealth, Amplitude, and Anaplan.
We have also seen a wave of newly verified employers hit the ledger recently, including Betr, Cloudflareinc, Inductivehealth, Kayak, Firstup, Yieldmo, Ukg, and Revolut. Despite these new additions, the overall distribution remains tight, continuing to anchor the ledger's average right at 57/100.
Recruitment Tech and the Clustered Score Reality
When scores across disparate organizations converge on a single number, it usually reflects shared infrastructure and identical hiring workflows. Many hiring platforms and tools—including recruiting services like Smartrecruiters, Livecareer, Glassdoor, Ziprecruiter, Recruitee, and Workablehr—frequently integrate with standard Applicant Tracking Systems like Greenhouse. When every employer uses similar default automation settings, candidate experiences inevitably start to look identical.
In the last seven days, zero anonymous candidate reports were filed and zero cases were opened with Dep. This pause in weekly report filings does not mean hiring problems have dissolved overnight. It simply means candidates are navigating an environment where mid-tier transparency is treated as the status quo.
When the national average sits at 57 out of 100, any employer that wants to stand out needs to offer genuine responsiveness and reliable feedback rather than standard automated boilerplate. Until more employers make an effort to move toward Anomali’s 66 or higher, candidates will continue encountering the same baseline treatment across nearly every application submitted.
