Methodology
JobCop scores companies on the parts of hiring that hurt candidates most: silence, delay, and pay opacity. No pay-to-play. No editorial reviews. Data or nothing.
The headline score is a rolling ratio of applications that received any outcome versus those that were ghosted. It only becomes public once a company has at least 3 tracked applications through JobCop.
Companies with fewer than 3 tracked applications keep their prior score unchanged.
We measure the average days from application submission to the first status change (interview, rejection, offer). Companies faster than 7 days get a speed bonus in search ranking; those over 21 days trigger the auto-ghost flip.
Listings that disclose a real salary range are boosted. When a range is present, we normalize it against the location's Purchasing Power Index so a €55k Berlin role can be compared honestly with a $95k San Francisco role.
Any signed-in JobCop user can rate a company they've engaged with on four dimensions: overall, response speed, communication quality, and process fairness. Reviews are stored anonymously — no name, no email, no timestamp fingerprinting. One review per person per company.
Feedback doesn't move the score directly. It sits publicly on the company profile so employers can see exactly where candidates think they can improve.
Every graded company can claim their profile, respond to reviews publicly, and — once verified — display the JobCop Verified badge. Verification does not raise the score; only real hiring behavior does.
